CHAPTER 6

It was a beautiful morning in Wisconsin. The sun rose brighter than it had the previous day. At least that's what Allie thought as she walked out the hotel she had spent the night in.

They say in every dark cloud is a silver lining. The statement defines the silver lining as not a thing of choice, but by the idea that something or someone might turn the day around for the one who needs it. The silver lining never comes through the hand of the one who needs it but instead from the hands of others.

But, what if in every dark cloud is that silver lining, but soon, the silver lining dissipates into a much worse cloud through the hands of the person who needs it.

Raj would soon come to find out how true that is as he opened his eyes on that hotel bad on that Saturday morning where some people considered the sun brighter and the sounds that echoed on the streets, beautiful.

In his mind, Raj went over the events of the previous night, Allie being the main focus. Usually, with the other girls he'd been with, he always would have disappeared before the girl woke up the next morning, but he wasn't a complete monster, he always tends to leave a note. But somehow with Allie, he hadn't want her to disappear like he did his one-night stands, so instead, he told his body and mind to relax for a change, so he had slept in. Perhaps, he could ask her out on a date. A proper date. He hated the idea and at the same time not loved it but was amused by the woman named Allie.

It came as a shock to him when he looked to the side and found the bed empty of traces of Allie. His first thought was that maybe she was in the bathroom, but he could hear no water running. So, he got up and properly scanned the room. Nothing.

He grinned to himself. She had done it again, successfully managed to pique his interest. He was definitely going to ask her out now, but he didn't know when else she'd be on shift.

He finally settled on the idea that perhaps he'd stay in Wisconsin for a few more days, go to Domino's strip every night until he finally gets the night when she would be on shift.

He crossed over to the table where his phone had been and saw a note lying on it. Cute, he thought. Until he read the contents of the note;

"Dear rich guy, I left you a surprise on your phone. Call me *smiley face*."

Raj who had never like surprises and for some reason knew this was one surprise he would hate.

He gazed at his phone with uncertainty written all over his eyes and eventually, he picked it up and looked for the surprise. He didn't have to look far though. It was right there on the screen waiting.
